From 1st July 2012, an updated new skill occupation list will take effect, which will affect the applicants who will apply for new independent (non –sponsored) and family sponsored skill migration applications (transitional arrangement applicants will not be affected ) 4 new occupations have been added to the list and 4 old occupations have been removed as follows:
4 Additions to the SOL:

4 Removals from the SOL:

| 252711 | Audiologist |
| 331111 | Bricklayer |
| 333411 | Wall and Floor Tiler |
