News update on the Labour Agreement 

Australian government has introduced and made some changes to the Labour agreement providing opportunity to fill the skilled labourers for the employers.

Changes in the Minister of religion Labour Agreements allowing employers to sponsor an additional occupation of “Religious Assistant”.

Previously the Nominee needs to in a specific location and at a senior position, whereas under the new agreement, the nomine can work in any senior position. The Nominee still needs to meet occupation requirements related to qualifications and skills. The changes are effective from 11 March 2019

Aged care Labour Agreement:

Good News for the aged care labourers as they can hire overseas workers with specialised skills to support older Australians. The special visa arrangements will allow aged care facilities to access a personalised visa arrangement to hire employees with the skill to cater for the needs of the elderly communities.

"This visa arrangement demonstrates the Government's commitment to migrant communities and those organisations who care for Australia's elderly. It will greatly assist them in finding the right staff to deliver vital aged care services."

The company specific labour arrangements will enable aged care providers to deliver specialised services that better understand a residents cultural needs. The aged care providers can request a company specific labour agreement to sponsor skilled overseas workers for a TSS or an ENS visa.
